French Guiana
Located in South America, French Guiana is a French department under French administration, belonging to the European community.
It is characterized by an immense animal and plant biodiversity but also by an incredible diversity of the peoples which compose it: Creoles, Metropolitan, Amerindian, Black-brown, Hmongs…
With 98% of its area occupied by the Amazon rainforest, French Guiana remains one of the wildest countries on the planet.
Drowned in an ocean of greenery, French Guiana borders two large rivers: the Maroni to the west marks the one with Suriname and the Oyapock, to the east the one with Brazil.
The climate is Equatorial. The main dry season is between July and December. A small dry season is in March called “little summer of March”. The average temperature is 26° C.

Yellow fever
Remember to get vaccinated against yellow fever, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required at the entrance of the country.
Malaria
Although an anti-malarial treatment is recommended during a stay in French Guiana, our site being located in primary forest and in a place far from any human activity, no case has been identified on our site so far.
Dengue
